Bamburi Cement Plc, in agreement with the Mombasa County government, has voluntarily suspended operations on its Mombasa quary site after a one off coal dust incident. On Wednesday, January 10, the company indicated in a statement that it is suspending “certain activities” while putting in place a cross-functional committee to address the incident, which it attributes to unprecedented winds during coal storage preparation.
